The City of Irvine’s inaugural Art at City Hall event features a selection of work from my Suburban Ecologies exhibition, which was was unable to open to the public due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Suburban Ecologies brings together six interlocking creative projects conceived in response to the natural and built environments in which I live: the repeating architectures of the City of Irvine, the competing waterfronts of Orange County, and the topographic space defined by local watersheds.

A new work, City #1: Irvine, was created for Art at City Hall.

By placing art about Irvine and its region in the monumental postmodern atrium of the Irvine Civic Center, this reconfiguration of the Suburban Ecologies exhibition creates a provocative new visual conversation.

Many thanks to Adam Sabolick and the City of Irvine for creating the Art at City Hall initiative.
