Figure Ground is a second series of images focused on Toronto’s tower apartment neighborhoods. This growing body of work forms the visual basis for several prominent community initiatives, unanticipated but welcome adoption that supports the project’s artistic intentions: to stimulate discourse about the role these structures play in the city, and to create the opportunity for the consequential nature of these sites to enter Toronto’s popular consciousness. These images extend earlier representations of these sites found in West Lodge and Landmarks and Monuments.
All of the images are from 2011, and are available as a 36” x 36” chromogenic prints in an edition of ten.
