Design and the Anthropocene is a conference that brought together scholars working across the boundaries of the arts, humanities, sciences, and engineering in response to the challenges of the anthropocene, an emerging concept for a geological age marking the fundamental influence of human activities on our planet. Keynotes, panels, and participatory design activities blended together approaches and insights from across the academy in order to frame new questions and develop new methodologies that help us respond to the enduring legacies of humankind.
Design and the Anthropocene was co-organized with Geoffrey Bowker, Judith Gregory, Peter Krapp, Julia Lupton, and Simon Penny.
